Keith Ronald Miles was born on August 13, 1971 on Long Island, New York to Ronald and Brenda Murphy Miles.
A devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend, Keith lived a life marked by faith, intellectual achievement, professional excellence, and deep love for his family.
Keith was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and a partner of Devoted Church. His faith remained a constant source of strength and guidance throughout his life. His favorite praise song, “Yes” by Shekinah Glory could often be heard playing on repeat, reflecting his devotion and love for worship. This song played as he transcended.
A gifted and dedicated scholar, Keith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1995. He passed the New York State Bar Examination on his first attempt and was admitted to practice law in May 1996. His commitment to education continued throughout his life. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 2005, where he received the distinction of Beta Gamma Sigma, and later earned a Master of Laws from the University of Alabama in 2013.
Keith began his professional career in Manhattan, New York working in taxation for Price Waterhouse Coopers. He later joined Merrill Lynch, where he worked in the Global Tax Department. In 2004, Keith moved to Georgia and completed the University of Georgia’s intensive 11-month MBA program. He then worked in the Tax Advisory Practice at Alvarez & Marsal before joining the Tax Department at Cingular Wireless, which later became AT&T.
To date, The Law Offices of Keith R. Miles is the only African American Law Firm in Georgia to hold the certification of CELA by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF). The NELF is the only national organization accredited by the American Bar Association. Keith was a member of the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He sat on the Board of the Elder Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association [where he served as the 2025–2026 Treasurer] and was Chair of the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Georgia.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Keith was also a philanthropist. His heart was as big as his smile. He enjoyed movies, music, word games, reading, and football. He was a loyal New York Jets fan and appreciated the joy and connection these interests brought to his life.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Miles and Brenda Murphy Miles. He leaves to cherish his memory: Beloved and adored wife, Chernean Brean Miles; Daughters, Ariyana and Autumn; Sons, Antwon and Jaron; Stepchildren, Richard, Robert, Andre, Roderick and Cecelia; Granddaughter Nyomi. He is also lovingly remembered by: Stepmother, Beatrice; Sisters, Ronalda (James) and Melissa (Derek); Aunt, Melissa (James); Uncle, Michael; Niece, Megan; Sister-In-law Barbara (Edward); Mother-in-love, Anita. Additionally, he leaves lifelong friends Eustace, Marlon (Angelique) and a host of extended family members and friends whom he loved deeply.
Keith’s legacy will live on through his family, steadfast faith, remarkable accomplishments, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His life was a testament to perseverance, purpose, and the grace of God. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he rests in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served.
